Christmas 2010

What a wonderful Christmas we had!

Ben and Hannah always spend Christmas Eve with their dad, so we missed them a lot, but we knew they were having a blast with their other side of the family. Mark, Ashton and I had a different yet wonderful Christmas Eve this year. Our friends invited us over. We had awesome homemade one of a kind Turkey Taco soup! It was delicious! It should be in a cookbook! Gotta get that recipe!! We then attended a Christmas Eve service at their church. Ashton did pretty good the first 1/2 hour. Started saying "Go home" the next 1/2 hour and then lost it the last 5 minutes of the service. The three of us went out to dinner after that (Azteca - hee hee...) and came home and made Chocolate Spritz cookies! That was my first time ever seeing the Spritz gun used! Mark was an expert and made great looking cookies! Boy was I impressed. I never knew how cool it was to watch my husband make some cookies! That will be a tradition for us every year! Mark has now decided that he loves the Chocolate Spritz cookies much better than the original. (But we all know his obsession for chocolate!)

Christmas Day was busy but wonderful! We Started off with having the 5 of us eat a big breakfast; open gifts; and just enjoy our time together! Then the hustle and bustle of the day begins! Cleanup, showers and packing the car for the day. First stop is my family! It was a fun time at my parents house. There was great food, dessert and nice conversation the whole afternoon. Then to pack the car again to head 1-1/2 hours to Mark's family. Again with the wonderful food, dessert and some disco spinning on the floor! Ashton sure can make his Auntie's do some crazy stuff! We ended the evening with dropping off the kids at their dad's to finish their Christmas Day. They were super excited to still have more presents to open and it was 10pm. What a wonderful full day spent with family! ;)

Merry Christmas!

Wow! Santa visits by boat!

We spent the late afternoon/evening at Auntie Christy and Uncle Barts home in Black Diamond. Ashton had tons of fun playing with Uncle Bart's trains. Then he heard that Santa was coming to visit him on the dock. He was so excited! Santa gave him some trains to play with and gave Ashton presents to give to Ben and Hannah.

Christmas Time

Ashton is loving Christmas time! For the last few months we have been telling him he will have to ask Santa Claus if he wants certain gifts. He was real excited the first time he saw Santa in the mall. He even wanted to sit on his lap. I think he thought he was going to get a gift right then and there.

We went back with Ben, Hannah and all the cousins. I think it seemed too crowded for Ashton this time, but he still looked like he was excited to see Santa.

Updates: Ben is in 8th grade this year and Hannah is in 7th grade. Both of them ended the first trimester with terrific A's! Ben and Hannah just finished Soccer season, and they are starting their Junior Tennis teams. I think Ben loves Tennis to try and get better, and Hannah loves to socialize, but they both are enjoying it! Ben still is into Xbox! Every free moment he would love to be on it. Hannah is still as artistic as ever! Knitting, drawing, sewing and singing. She always amazes us!

Ash is a busy 2 year old. Loves to go from one thing to the next. He loves the TV and Computer. I think it is something I say no to often, so he seems to think about it all day. ;) He still enjoys Thomas trains and the Wiggles! He sure can jam out to the Wiggles songs with his big brothers Guitar Hero and Rock Band Guitars! Ash is attending a Co-op in Mill Creek 2 times a week. I am allowed to leave him one of those days, but he is still so clingy that I just stay and hang out both days. Mark and I are trying to get Ashton into reading early. He sure does love his books!

Ashton is loving the baking season too! He always wants to cook cookies now. I hate to tell you that in that bowl is an assortment of things that were in the pantry. (Oatmeal, Paprika, wheat flour, whole allspice, ect.....) He just loves to pour and mix!
