After soccer practice we went to lunch at a horrible unsanitary restaurant in Everett, then we ventured to a toy store down the street. I had heard that the Jedi's were going to be at their "Clothes for Kids" Charity event so we decided to be part of it. The store was fantastic! I think Ashton was loving it. We heard they were having 20% off all Star Wars toys during their event, so Ashton had fun picking something out. We got lucky because he picked some used Star Wars toys! (And we thought he would pick something expensive out that we were going to have to tell him to put on his Christmas list!)

Five boys tennis players to watch this season
By David Krueger, Herald Writer
Ben Mietzner, Jackson, So.
Mietzner has made the jump from No. 3 singles – as a freshman – to No. 1 singles for the Timberwolves this season as Jackson looks to continue it's remarkable unbeaten streak. The Timberwolves haven't lost a team match in three years. Mietzner did exceptionally well last season and, after playing quite a bit this summer, has jumped to the top of the ladder. "I don't think Ben lost a match at three singles last year as a freshman," Jackson coach David Hutt said. He is being challenged by Peter Cung, another strong player, for that No. 1 spot, in Jackson's early practices. "I can't emphasize how close they are. It's a battle down to the wire," Hutt said. "We're very fortunate to have that issue

Kids First Day of School
Ben and Hannah started school last Wednesday. It is Hannah's first time in Highschool. She was nervous at first, but came home and said she really liked it. She liked her classes and her lunch schedule. Ben enjoyed his first day of school too. He even had his first tennis match as Varsity Singles #1 against Glacier Peak High School.

Sweet 16
HAPPY 16TH BIRTHDAY
BENJAMIN!
Surprise! We brought you tons of balloons! We picked up Ben and Hannah from their dad's house and celebrated Ben's birthday at The Rock Pizza place in Bothell. |
This definitely looks like Mark's kid! I think I have a photo of Mark doing this to Ashton. Ha! |
After lunch we went and had cake and opened gifts at his dad's place.
This year we have a new favorite dessert added to the extremely large list of sweets we already love!
We call it "Chocolate Splat"
Mark at first said we should call it "Cow Pie", but I really didn't want to think of poop. So it looks like chocolate that was just smashed together. Chocolate splat sounded perfect.
I made these Chocolate chip Buttermilk Cookies last week and the family loved them. Ben kept asking for more. He said he would love to have them for his birthday. So I piled them together in a circular shape and poured our favorite chocolate icing on top to create an unusual cake. It was quite rich and delicious! Yummmm....

My first born....I sure love this kid!! |
Don't let the horns fool you, he is actually a pretty sweet kid. This is not a omen! Now make a wish....but sorry there will not be a car in your future. (Or a iPhone!) |
This was the big gift. It was from Mark, Ben's Dad and myself. It wasn't as much as a used car, but it was pretty darn close. He really wanted a letterman's jacket! |
HE LOOKS GOOD!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BENNY!

Ashton's Bike
Notice anything missing?
We told Ashton that when he turns 4 years old, he needed to learn to ride his bike without training wheels. Mark took him out after dinner tonight and he learned pretty quickly!
He is so excited and proud of himself!
