2013 4A WA Boys State Tennis

The weekend for state finally arrived!

Jackson High School, along with many kids from our club, were in Richland, Wa playing in the 4A WA state Tennis Championships.

We all woke up to rain on Friday morning. Ben was supposed to play outside in the sunshine, but was moved to the indoor club and the boys singles were squeezed in between the girls matches. Ben beat his first opponent, but played 2 more matches that day and lost. He came into the tournament with a injured foot and was trying to ice in between matches. He is due for surgery to remove his extra bone (Os Trigonum) and will be out for 8 weeks. No tournaments this summer, but he hopes to be back to his normal active tennis playing self by the time the high school season starts at the end of August.

His team had 5 boys head over with their coach. They were supposed to have 2 coaches there because the singles and doubles play at different places. Ben was the only singles player. Because of the awful bridge collapsing up north on I-5, one of the coaches had to leave. (He is a fire Chief in the local area and is part of the Western Washington Emergency Response team) He had made it to Richland Thursday evening and had to turn right back around. Good thing Mark and I went up there, because Mark was able to be Ben's coach in between sets while the other coach was helping with the 2 doubles teams.

I posted this on FaceBook, and his coach that he works with at Columbia Athletic Club asked me if Ben thought this was in or out. ;)  I am pretty sure Ben played it. I think Shot spot would say it caught the line.

Nice job Boys!  Two of the 5 boys are seniors this year. They will be missed.

 Jackson High Schools biggest fan:

Hey Punk! He thought it was hilarious that I would call him a punk when he turned his hat sideways. I told him that adults think kids are punks when they do this and he kept laughing and laughing. Silly kid!

Ashton only wanted me to take photos of him when his hat was on sideways. So here he was saying "NOOOOOO"  I took it anyways!

We found a park on Saturday that was very close to the Tennis matches. He was having fun there. He did add another bruise to his shins, but after the swelling went down with ice, he was as good as new again.

It was a beautiful day on Saturday. Too bad we had to leave after this match.

Hannah was showing us her talent.

She then tried to teach Ashton.

It was a fun little trip over the mountains. Great to see Ben and so many kids we knew play.

Happy Mother's Day

I am in love with my sisters wisteria!  Definitely breathtaking.

Happy Mother's day.

Happy First Mother's day!

Hannah gave me the most beautiful card!

I had my personal photographer AKA: Mark Bergman with me.

Christy was loving the swing. She couldn't remember the last time she was on one.

Love my sweetie-pie!

Best baby ever! I still have never heard her cry. Her mama swears she does.

The boys were loving it that Ben was on the swing.

Hi Sweetie!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALICE!

It was hard to find a photo with all smiles or all eyes opened.  Took Photoshop and tried to fix a few people. I am loving that program!

Before our Mother's day lunch, mark and I were entertaining Ashton and Toby while Ben and Hannah were shopping.  The boys were having fun trying on hats.

Daddy was proud that Ashton wouldn't even put a Husky hat on his had.

Mark got Toby to try on a Cougar hat.  We tried hard to convert him!
