The Special Day Arrived! Ashton and his Trains. Ben and highschool tennis!

Today was a special day for Ashton! He has been waiting since July 17th to watch the new Thomas the Train movie "Day of the Diesels"!   He watches the Movie trailer on YouTube almost every other day, and he can recite it word for word while watching the preview.  Such a funny little boy! He even wore his special Ashton 10 Day of the Diesel shirt today! (For those of you who do not know Diesel 10 is a train in the movie. An Evil train that Ashton likes....hmmm....should we worry?)

He was so excited to buy it at Toys R US today.  Lucky for us they had only 2 left!  They kept trying to tell me it doesn't come out today. They finally looked in their stock room!  Yeah!! They had it!
Ashton watching his show!

BENNY!  No photos today. I couldn't go to his away match, but he played in his first Jackson Highschool Varsity tennis match at Woodinville High.  He won in the Singles #2!  We are so happy for him. He is very excited to start his first day at school tomorrow with a big win under him! GO BEN!

Ashton's 3rd Birthday

A little late - but worth the wait!

Our little Ashton turned 3 on August 29th!    The most memorable thing for me about his party will be the melted cake.  It was such a hot day and when we took the cake out of the box, the frosting was melting right off of it.  Ashton didn't notice and he still loved it!

He loved his present time! This year he totally understood the present process.  He was very excited to open and was good at saying thank you to whomever gave him the gift.

After everyone left he played with every birthday toy he received! It was hard to get him to bed that night.
The next day for his "real" birthday he woke up and wanted to play "RockBand" with Hannah.

So excited to get a Lightning McQueen shirt!

We were excited to give Ashton this gift.  He loves Trains so much we thought we would incorporate some cars into his play world.  This is a Tomica toy brand that has a fast battery operated train and then hot wheel style cars you play with.  All the kids liked it.  It seems to be loud at times, but Mark and I find ourselves enjoying this toy too!

Tennis Champ!

Ben started this Tennis tournament Thursday night at Tacoma Lawn and Tennis.  We had to stay almost all day thursday, Friday and Saturday because he had matches in the morning and then the afternoon. We came back for one final match on Sunday afternoon to watch him win the consolation finals! That was a huge win for him!   Before this tournament he was ranked #44 in the Pacific Northwest 14's singles boys division. This big win would have moved him up a bit more! We are very proud of Ben!

ASHTON:  His tennis has improved. I am sure it is from watching big brother and all the other tennis matches this weekend.

Good little guy

I am so impressed with Ashton and his ability to sit still. I think it helps having an older brother and sister that he watches so intently.  The dentist and the hair cut appointment went so well this week.

Cheese!
Ashton really likes Dr. Olga!

There is a tv on the ceiling and he has head phones on.   He did great!

He did so good, that the dentist thought he should get photos of his teeth.  It was a new thing, and he still was so awesome!

The next day we stopped by the barber's and got a hair cut!

Good lookin'

July just Flew by!

Even though it was a dreary July, it seemed to keep us pretty busy.  We found some spots with sunshine and used them up! Summer time is passing us by quickly.
Trying to live with the Penguins at the zoo.
The first day of July was beautiful and sunny. We loved the Zoo!

07-07  Happy 4 year anniversary to us!!

Our trip to Chelan was fantastic.  The weather was great, the friends were awesome! We had a great time with the Price's and can't wait to go back next year! Thanks Jenny and Garret.  You guys rock!
Mark and Jenny racing down to the finish line!
Ashton's best buddy Cooper turned 3!

Beautiful Hannah!  She was loving the feathers in her hair.  Thanks to Barclays Salon in Everett

Ashton's little legs were going too fast for his tricycle that we had to upgrade him to a bigger bike already.  He is trying to keep up with his sister again!

Ashton loved his time at a "Day out with Thomas" in Snoqualmie Falls.  He talks about it often!

Ashton is finally into shoulder rides. Mark loves him up there!

Ode to Hannah

Our Hannah-Bear

Hannah made this in art class. She sculpted it from a block of styrofoam.
Hannah is our artistic, beautiful and loving daughter. Her creative abilities always amaze us! She made this poem for one of her classes.

I Belong

By Hannah Mietzner

I belong to dusty torn photos of,
Glistening ruby flats wrapped around my feet,
A checkered dress flaring down beneath my knees,
Braids streaming below with the scent of a blooming rose,
And a rapturous smile wanting Dorothy to see.

I belong to moist filling fudge shredded on my cheeks,
"I'm saving it for later."
Slippery noodles boiled with a dash of round tomatoes,
"Thanks for dinner."
Plump berries tumbling on my tongue,
"No more until you eat your vegetables."

I belong to rapid roller coasters weaving through the crowded parks,
"We're gonna die!" "You're so dramatic!"
Cruising around the pocket Puget Sound,
Hula dancers hanging loose by the windy beaches,
And a far-flung trip to the book country, Italy.

I belong with Papa and Ba Ngoai on a Merry Christmas day,
A jovial spring time drifting candle flames away,
Dinging on doors with a costume surprise,
Hunting for colorful eggs hidden in the wavy emerald grass.

I belong to gliding down turf sidelines,
A cross down the vast, foggy field,
Maneuvering to get to the narrow knitted goal,
And a POW!
A kick leading above the goalie's gloved fingers,
And a HORRAY from the fans.

I belong to rambunctious, tippy-toe sprints of a tiny 2 year old brother,
A gala in the hands of a helpful Mother and step dad,
Lounging in the lay-back chair while navy braces grab my teeth,
And a new elementary friend who is affable, caring, and a laughable person.

I belong to an educated learning tool,
Sitting in my head being used this very moment,
With the character of trust to not live a lie,
Grinning at the people I shake hands with,
And staying positive with the bad news I get.

That's where I belong.

This weekend Hannah played in her one and only tennis tournament of the year. She did great! Cleared the first round and played real hard in the second. Unfortunately she didn't win the tournament, but we are real proud of her for trying her best!

Ben's 8th Grade graduation

Our big guy has graduated from middle school and is on his way to high school! Way to go Ben!

Love this photo! So cute~
Waiting for the ceremony to begin. Jacob came with us!  We were crammed in the bleachers. I felt sorry for Mark and Jacob. Two tall guys having to cram their legs in tiny little bleachers, and boy was it getting hot!
